Fall 2015 marked the 10 Year Anniversary of fashion house 3.1 Phillip Lim. To celebrate, a collaboration to create an exceptional and thoughtful runway show installation was put into the works. In tune with the vocabulary of Maya’s work, the environment focused on scale and repetition using only one earthly resource – soil. Maya and Phillip’s shared approach of honoring the beauty in the everyday, transitioning the ordinary in to the extraordinary, and attention to technique revealed itself in this exceptional runway experience.

45 minutes later, after the show wrapped, 3.1 Phillip Lim staff began the process of returning and repurposing the soil back into New York City community gardens in an exercise of appreciation and gratitude.

Following the runway show, we celebrated this collaboration with a limited edition series of animal print t-shirts. Made from 100% organic cotton, each design features a life-sized footprint highlighting four endangered species: African Elephant, Black Rhino, Tiger and Siberian Crane.
