The Empty Room is about absence. Walking into a darkened space, viewers are met only by flickering lights created by the projection of film hidden in the floor and ceiling. By guiding a thin, clear screen over a projection a person can “catch” an image, hold it in their hands, hear the sound of the species or habitat, and experience a personal connection with the work.
